How far the dataset has got

No passport is chosen yet, so nothing here can be coloured by where a passport goes. What the map can show without being asked anything is our own progress: how much of each country’s passport we have checked against the government sources that set the rules. Pick a passport above and the same map repaints with what that passport actually needs.

172 of 199 destinations are verified so far. 27 are still provisional. Verification runs destination by destination, so they clear in blocks.

What the shading means

This map is about our dataset, not about travel. A country is shaded by how many of the 199 destinations we publish have been checked against a government source for that country’s passport. Darker means fewer left to check. It says nothing about where that passport can go: choose a passport above for that.

• Every destination checked
Nothing left to verify for this passport in the current edition.
• 1 to 3 still to check
Almost complete. The gaps are named on the passport's own page.
• 4 to 6 still to check
Most destinations verified, a handful still carried as provisional.
• 7 or more still to check (168 countries)
Verification has started but this passport is not yet close to done.
• No passport in the dataset (6 countries)
A territory we draw on the map but do not publish a passport page for, such as a dependency that issues no passport of its own.
